This is what I told my husband the other day. I remember during our first year of being together, every occasion there was flowers, chocolates and cards. Ten years later, no more cards nor flowers, well, the chocolates once in a while he comes home with a little bar of snickers. He is sweet in his own little way. But there was one special occasion that he never fails to send me flowers, our anniversary. Last year in April, he got 20% off my proflowers order during our 7th year of being married. I was so excited. I do know that my husband won’t order any flowers unless it’s on sale. He said, why would you buy it on a regular price if it goes on sale on a later date. But, he doesn’t buy just any flowers, he buys only the best..

Before I started working from home, my home internet service wasn’t really that important to me. If it went out or acted up it didn’t mean that my paycheck was in jeopardy. I would just deal with it and have my husband fix it when he got home, or call the provider to give me instructions on what I could do to remedy the situation. Now that I’m working from home that has all changed dramatically. I took an enormous pay cut so that I could have more flexibility and work from home. This means that I have to be a lot more responsible about my spending and really do my homework before purchasing anything that will affect my family. I can’t afford to pay a lot for internet service, but I need something reliable and constant. I also don’t want to spend all day on the phone with someone trying to figure out what’s wrong with my connectivity. If my internet doesn’t work, I don’t get paid. That’s why I checked out clear internet deals. I need to be sure that I can get a good deal from someone I can depend on, and that is what they offered me.

It’s been over a month now when I received an email from Jenny, who wondered if I can help children with disability  by doing an entry about MyOwnPet Balloon and let people know about this charitable work that they do. I had been so busy that I wasn’t able to do it. I am hoping that it’s not too late yet. Christmas is just around the corner, I wished that people would still have the time to look for gifts for children.

I am a mom of four wonderful and healthy children. Everytime I was pregnant with each one of them, there was only one wish in my mind. I didn’t care if they weren’t the most beautiful kids in the whole world, nor if they were boys or girls, as long as they were healthy and had 10 fingers and 10 toes, and all that stuff, I would be so grateful. Everyday when I wake in the morning, all I wanted was to check on my kids and see if they are alright. Now that they passed the infancy stage, I still check them when I wake up in the middle of night to see if they are still breathing or whatever  negative things that I can think of.

When we have children, we want what is best for them. We want them to grow up normal and happy. I am so fortunate that my children are living a healthy and normal life. Although I feel sorry for the parents of children who has disabilities, I admire them for doing a great job taking care of their kids. I do know that it takes a lot of patience, love and bravery being able to take care of children who need a lot of extra care. Nowadays, it gets easier since there’s a lot of machines and gadgets that the kids can use to make theirs and their caregivers’ lives easier.

How can we make our children happy in any occasion? Like what my kids always say,” I want to get toys!”.  They hardly care for clothes at all. Kids with or without disability have something in common. They love to get toys, it will make their day. So, let me ask you..what can you give to children who are not able enough to chase toys that move or cannot be able to play with the toys the same way as the others?  If it was me, what I would do is get them something from MyOwnPet Ballons. You know why? aside from you will make a child happy, you will also help them raise a fund for a charitable non-profit organization called Canines for Disable Kids.

MyOwnPet Ballons help the CDK by donating $5.00 for every MyOwnPet Balloon they sold on their site. Isn’t that great? It touches my heart when there are places or organization who do this. I am also a member of an organization in my country and although I am not there to participate in all our charitable programs, I am happy to know that the small amount that I contributed made a difference in someone’s life. There is no greater feeling than knowing that someone out there has a nice Christmas because of the little thing that you did. It doesn’t matter how small the deed is, what’s important is, you made it happen.

This Holiday season, let’s open our hearts to those children who has disabilities and make their Christmas a happy day to remember. Feel that feeling of satisfaction and happiness because you know that someone out there has is having a great Christmas because of you.

Have a great Holiday season to all!

There’s a cooking oil out there that may be one of the most misunderstood oils around. It’s coconut oil, which for years we were cautioned against using because of its high saturated fat content. But it turns out that the type of saturated fat in coconut oil actually is good for us—and that coconut oil provides some surprising health benefits, including weight management… boosting the immune system… and improving some skin conditions.

Coconut oil is primarily composed of medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs), which don’t contribute to heart disease the way that long-chain triglycerides (LCTs) do (think beef fat). Find out how it helps…

Weight management. Before European colonization, people from the tropical coastal areas of the Pacific were not overweight despite a diet rich in coconut. A 2009 study published in Lipids found that coconut oil supplementation reduced waist circumference and did not raise total cholesterol levels as did soybean oil supplementation.

Immune boost. Coconut oil contains lauric acid, a powerful antimicrobial that combats infections from both fungi and viruses. It also helps to combat pathogens in the digestive tract.

Skin conditions. Studies have shown that coconut oil can reduce the symptoms of dermatitis and dry skin—and it can help with psoriasis and eczema.

How to use it: Coconut oil can be substituted for most other oils. Look for virgin or extra-virgin coconut oil that is not processed with chemicals and contains no trans fat. Spread it on crackers… use it in stir-fries or to sauté… or substitute it for butter or shortening in baking. Place it in a tub of warm water to liquefy it and drizzle it over salads. You can add it when cooking rice or pasta. It has a mild coconut flavor. You also can rub it into your skin to relieve dryness.
